Hi Word Up family, We haven't been able to see you at the shop since we closed (temporarily!) on March 13th. We hope you all are staying home if you can, and taking care of yourselves and your loved ones. These are tough times right now and we're all trying to stay sane—please call 888-NYC-WELL if you are feeling stressed or emotional. As a collective, we're working to compile info that will complement what is already available out there, including aggregating educational resources en español.

If you create Spanish-language educational websites, worksheets, and videos, please send us your links! Stay tuned, too, for online programming in English and Spanish, coming soon! Internally, we have been referring to resources like NYC United Against Coronavirus, and Food Hub NYC, and those of us who can have been participating in an uptown Coronavirus Community Response Network—uptowners can fill out this form to inform of resources you can offer, and/or your needs. One thing we can actually still provide you is BOOKS—and it would be more helpful than ever if you bought them from us at www.WordUpBooks.com. Books ship directly to your residence from a warehouse outside of New York. You may also place orders by phone at (347) 688-4456—someone will be monitoring the line T-F, 2–8pm, Sa 2-6pm. And you can email us anytime at info@wordupbooks.com. And: We now sell audiobooks! Before March 31, when you start a membership with code SHOPBOOKSTORESNOW, you’ll get two audiobooks for the price of one ($14.99), and 100% of your payment will go to Word Up Community Bookshop. Other ways you can help at this time include

Wishing you our best <3, Word Up Collective
