Workshop: Washington Heights Memoir Project

***THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL but see below for the general call for submissions!***

6 Sundays: October 13, 20, 27, & November 3, 10, 17

The Washington Heights Memoir Project, organized by Dominican Writers Association, will include current and past residents of Washington Heights/Inwood neighborhoods—of Dominican descent, ages 12+, who have lived or worked in the neighborhood for at least 2 years, and inclusive of both emerging and professional writers—with the intention of creating an archive of our experiences living and or working in the Washington Heights/Inwood area. The 6-week WHMP workshop, facilitated by Francis Mateo, is for current and past residents of Washington Heights who will write and workshopo pieces for a culminating anthology. WHMP helps amplify local voices through an array of writing tools, alongside the professional development needed for writers to publish on their own.

For those unable to attend the writing workshops due to living outside of New York, because the workshop is full, or any other reason, please feel free to submit to the anthology, which will be published in Fall 2020.
