Workshop: Making Book Events

You've published a book, and now it's time to celebrate and share it in real life! Attend a workshop and infoshare led by two people who can give you the lowdown on how to make your book event a success.

THIS WORKSHOP IS FREE, BUT REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED at makingabookevent.eventbrite.com, so that we have an adequate number of handouts—and refreshments!

Cody Madsen is the events manager at the NYC-based independent bookstore Book Culture, coordinating in-store events across all four Book Culture locations as well as several offsite events per week.

Angela Abreu is the founder of Dominican Writers, which has connected communities to books through events in bookstores and non-bookstores alike, as well as the inaugural Dominican Writers Conference.

Making Book Events is part of the Word Up Bookmark Series—workshops, panels, & meetups on the behind-the-scenes life of books—and is organized by Seven Stories Institute/Word Up Community Bookshop and supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
