Alongside the current exhibition in our gallery space, Inju Kaboom is hosting a free public workshop to demonstrate the techniques she used to create her printed works.
Inju Kaboom’s Printing Hudson River show comprises the full series of prints she produced for The Heights/El Alto, which was a group printmaking project commissioned by Realengo Studio and Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria.*
Inju’s series of prints was unique within the commissioned project because—through her use of suminagashi, ebru, and marbling printing techniques, and executed using the ever-changing waters of the Hudson River—each and every print was completely different. A selection of the prints are featured in a solo exhibition at the Word Up gallery, on view through May 19.
The workshop will take place in the backyard of La Casa, 570 West 159th St. There is one step up to the backyard; the entire workshop will take place outdoors. The workshop will be conducted in English. Limited spaces; RSVP required through Eventbrite:
* The Heights/El Alto is organized by Realengo Studio and Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria, and was made possible in part with funding from the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation and administered by LMCC.
