Monthly Highbridge Park Trail Clean Up (All Ages)

Word Up is a community trail maintainer in partnership with the NYC Park's Department's Super Steward Program. In 2021, we adopted the southern Old Croton Aqueduct Trail.

Volunteers will identify and remove garbage in heavily-trafficked areas of the park. Tools (grabbers, trashbags, and gloves) will be provided. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress for the weather. Bring water and a snack if you wish! Walking will be on paved and un-paved forest trail.

When: Every last Saturday of the Month, 11am-1pm

Where: Highbridge Park, Old Croton Aqueduct Trail

Meeting at: Word Up Community Bookshop/Librería Comunitaria

Debris (garbage and recycling) we may encounter and pick up: 

• Plastic and glass bottles
• snack wrappers, plastic bags, other soft plastic wrappers
• used needles, broken glass, and other sharp objects***
• old clothing, left behind devices, broken umbrellas, etc.
