LA CIUDAD EN MI LENGUA Taller de escritura en español

Thursday, February 9, 2023 - 6:30pm
via ZOOM
New York, NY 10032

We present two cycles of free Creative Writing workshops in Spanish organized by Poets and Writers organization, funded by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and facilitated by teacher and writer Marianela Fernández. The idea is to explore different cities (real and imaginary) from several perspectives: the habitants, some hidden corners, the landscapes, what moves, what is static, the smells, the noises, what can be seen and what can be imagined. The workshops will explore a variety of texts from Latin American writers such as Rita Indiana (República Dominicana), Silvina López Medín (Argentina), Pablo Neruda (Chile) and Irene Gruss (Argentina) among others. The writing exercises and prompts will emerge from the reading of those authors and some city observations. These will also include two photography workshops.
