Join us for a night of poetry and spoken-word with acclaimed poets Bob Holman and George Nelson Preston.
Bob Holman is a poet and activist for the medium. He is the founder of the Bowery Poetry Club and was the creator and producer of the award-winning, five-part PBS television series “The United States of Poetry.” George Nelson Preston is an artist and scholar of African art and founded the Artist's Studio, the center of Beat Poetry in NYC 1959-61. In 2005, he inaugurated the Museum of Art and Origins just around the corner from Word Up and exhibits his African art collection.
The event will be in English & Spanish.
