Calling all aspiring defenders of our one and only planet!
The Earth Defenders is Word Up's after-school program for 4th to 8th graders interested in learning about environmental and social justice themes through reading and conversation. For the Winter/Spring 2022 season, two book clubs will be hosted online: one for 4th and 5th graders, and one for 6th to 8th graders. Both book clubs will run from January to June.
This program is facilitated by two teaching artists, Renzo Moyano and Em Hirsch.

El club de lectura Defensores del Planeta es una programa extracurricular gratuito para estudiantes de 4º a 8º grado interesados en aprender sobre temas ambientales y de justicia social a través de la lectura y la conversación. Estos clubes serán virtuales y divididos por nivel de grado. Ambos clubes estarán activos desde enero hasta junio. Participantes de 4º y 5º grado se reunirán los martes y los de 6º a 8º grado se reunirán los jueves. Analizaremos la lectura de 3:30-5pm y proporcionaremos ayuda con tarea durante los últimos 30 minutos.
